My thoughts:
Detective Jess Lambert is back and I couldn’t be more excited!! This is the 3rd book in the series and even though it’s been a while since we last were with Jess, it felt like no time, especially as the author did a great job reminding us of what had happened without making it feel like we were rereading the previous books. She feeds us those reminders just when we need them.
This book jumps right in with the action, moves fast and yet had an emotional component I wasn’t prepared for. It is incredibly atmospheric and once again has a paranormal element that I just love…and had become a major part of the story arc of the whole series.
I cannot recommend this one enough…though I do suggest starting at the beginning of the series to really appreciate the character development and story arc, especially with all that happens in this installment. And I do hope there is more to come in this series…it is definitely one of my favorites!!
