Summary:

There’s a killer inside all of us…

In the remote hills of western Ireland, fear spreads as the locals struggle to make sense of a killer who is seemingly one of their own…

Dr. Alexander Gregory, a psychologist recovering from the collapse of a high-profile criminal profiling unit, wants nothing more than a quiet life to finally sit and think things through. But his rare ability to understand the minds of violent offenders makes him hard to ignore—especially when a small town is shaken by a brutal murder. Reluctantly pulled into the case, Gregory finds himself confronting not only a cunning predator, but the darker corners of his own mind.

From internationally bestselling author LJ Ross comes a tense, atmospheric thriller that explores how far we’ll go to understand—and survive—the darkness around us.

My thoughts:

I have just found a new series I want nothing more than to binge, talk about and recommend!! And to know that there are already 6 books written makes me so giddy — I need those books ASAP…but will be happy with book 2 in my hands right now!

I always love finding a new crime fiction book/series that grabs me right away and has me thinking of nothing else. Once I started this, it totally consumed me, making me work as I read it. I felt as I was one of the detectives on the case…that’s how hard this one had me thinking…and I loved it! ⁣

I loved the MC — Dr. Alexander Gregory is a forensic psychologist and profiler, which makes him such fascinating character. It also adds a unique lense to the case, making you look at everything a little differently. Not only does the team think about who did it, but they are also focusing on the why, and even more importantly what it is that makes the suspect tick.⁣

This book is dark and unsettling. It sneaks up on you just how unsettling. With its fast pace, you find you cannot stop reading, and if you have to put the book down, you cannot stop thinking about it. And the twists are on point…cleverly plotted and come at just the right time. ⁣

I loved this psychological thriller and am so excited to see what happens in the next installment!! And I’m so excited to have the chance to meet LJ Ross this Spring at The Hamptons Whodunnit Conference!
