Summary:

A SECRET BEACH. A HOLIDAY OF A LIFETIME.
WISH YOU WERE HERE?
THINK AGAIN…

It should be like any other holiday.

Beautiful beaches.
Golden sunsets.
Nothing for miles.

You’ll never want to leave.
Until you can’t…

My thoughts:

This is only my 2nd time reading this author and both have been winners! ⁣

This destination thriller had me flipping pages frantically, unable to put it down! Despite the length–this one comes in around 400 pages–I read it in 2 sittings because I just needed to know what was going on and how things would eventually play out…and let me just say, I was completely shocked by the final few twists! The short chapters, many ending in cliffhangers seemed to set things up for what was to come in the next chapter and I loved that. With the alternating POVs, it really kept the suspense and tension high and the underlying sense of foreboding was always right there…you just felt something was about to happen – probably bad – but you never are quite sure. ⁣

While this is a thriller, there is also an emotional component here that I was not expecting. The author does a good job delving into loss, grief, the bonds of sisterhood and more. Add in some family drama, lots of secrets and some lies you can see why it’s so consuming!⁣

Addictive, gripping and fast-paced, I highly recommend this one!⁣
