Summary:
SHE HELPED A PERFECT A STRANGER. SHE DIDN’T KNOW HE WAS THE PERFECT KILLER…
Elly Parker had everything.
Perfect husband. Perfect apartment. Perfect friends and the perfect job.
As an internet celebrity – famed for her random acts of kindness – everyone knew it.
So when a betrayal causes her to lose it all, millions of people are watching.
But even at her lowest, Elly will always help someone in need.
Which makes her the perfect target for a sadistic game.
Because as she soon learns, you can never trust a stranger – and a seemingly random encounter plunges her into a nightmare worse than she ever imagined.
The only person she can turn to is conman turned trial lawyer Eddie Flynn, who must take on a case where nothing is what it seems. With the most cruelly ingenious mind manipulating events from the shadows, everyone is in danger – including Eddie and his family.
My thoughts:
Have I mentioned how much I love the #EddieFlynn series yet? These books are not only clever and totally binge-worthy but they always just seem so on the nose, hitting on topics that are so timely.
This latest installment gives us two incredibly gripping storylines, one involving Eddie’s family and the other involving a social media influencer who gets the raw deal when one her random acts of kindness takes a disastrous wrong turn.
Because of the high profile of the one case and the personal nature of the other, the stakes were high here. And that just made it all the more intense, which I loved! Never a dull moment from start to finish, this adrenaline-fueled thriller kept me on my toes all the way through and I loved all the twists and turns we got, all the way up to the very end.
There’s a reason this has become one of my favorite series and I cannot wait to pick up the next book!
Audio thoughts:
Of course I opted to listen to this because I love the narrator, Adam Sims. He just gets Eddie Flynn. The consistency he brings to each book is fantastic!
