My thoughts:
I don’t typically go for the slasher-type horror books but I picked this one up because the author was going to be at Haunt the Readers and I figured I give it a try…and I was pleasantly surprised by how much I ended up enjoying it. I think because it’s a good mix of thriller and horror with many elements I do like so there was enough to keep me invested.
Here’s what I really enjoyed:
🔪 The locked-room setting — but make it in an isolated cabin to up the ante!!
🏔 The cult feel to it — I love a good cult story!!
🔪 The revenge storyline
🏔 The multiple POVs — I loved getting each of the women’s perspectives, but also it made me question who could be trusted!!
🔪 The twists — this one really kept me guessing
Audio thoughts:
The full-cast narration really made this story to life. I ended up binging it in a matter of hours because I became so invested. Each narrator really leaned into their part. bringing just the right energy. It was fantastic!!
