Summary:
The classic blockbuster thriller about three women who refuse to let death itself stop them from seeking justice on the man who took their lives…
“Hands down, one of my favorite reads of the year!” —Freida McFadden, author of The Housemaid
Meghan, Brecia, and Skye have just one thing in common.
They were all murdered by the same man.
He hunted them online, masquerading as an eligible bachelor. Then he played the perfect gentleman, a thick layer of charm and a thousand-watt smile hiding the fact that his first dates end in shallow graves.
He’s gotten away with murder three times now.
The only thing that might keep him from killing again? The women he murdered.
Meghan, Brecia, and Skye might be dead, but they’re not gone. They’ve found each other. And they won’t rest until they find a way to stop him.
The haunt is on.
The instant classic that has sold hundreds of thousands of copies worldwide, that will have you holding your breath while listening.
My thoughts:
Have I just discovered a new favorite author? How have I not read anything by Noelle H. Ihli before because this book was all kinds of amazing, despite being creepy as heck! And you can bet I have added Ihli’s entire backlist to my tbr!
Again, this is another book that has elements of horror but that is blended with other genres so that I loved it. This is where my sweet spot with the horror genre seems to be and I am quite happy with that. This book has such a chilling opening scene and I just knew right there, I was all in. There was no way I could put this one down until I got to the end and knew the resolution, which luckily I was very satisfied with! I don’t even want to give much away about the story itself because I loved how unique and compelling the storyline was. It totally kept me fully engaged and with the intensity and tension building as the book progressed, I was on the edge of my seat until the end.
This was such a twist on the classic serial killer story and I couldn’t have loved it more. It’s fast-moving and the unique spin really keeps you on your toes throughout, preventing this from being predictable in any way. Noelle Ihli – you have a new fan and I cannot wait to read more from you!!!
Audio thoughts:
This was narrated by Allison Delaney and I thought she did an amazing job bringing this story to life. She infused just the right amount of emotion and tension into her voice as needed.
