Summary:

For fans of Pretty Things and The Guest List comes a shocking novella of psychological suspense following a glamorous young actress and an obsessed fan.

Dear Seraphina, I hope you’ll write back someday soon. I know I might be asking too much: you, a Hollywood star; me, a cashier at this small-town grocery store. But the thing is, Seraphina, I have information I think you need to know. And don’t worry about how I got it. Just remember I’ll do anything—anything in the world—to protect you.

This captivating listen begins with fan letters to a beloved young actress, Seraphina, that become increasingly unhinged. As more and more is revealed about the troubled woman behind the fan mail and her connection to the starlet, a story of obsession becomes an expertly plotted tale of wrongdoing and revenge.

My thoughts:

I became a fan of Avery Bishop after reading Girl Gone Mad and when I heard about this Audible Original Story, I knew I had to listen to it…and it was a total winner! I loved it as I knew I would. This might be a short story at only an hour and a half, but boy does it pack a punch! And it utilizes my favorite technique of letters – the perfect way to grab your attention and pull you in right away. You might think you know where this is going, but believe me when I say, you have no idea!

This was such a fun book and I look forward to reading Avery Bishop’s new book, One Year Gone, which comes out later this summer!

Audio thoughts:

This was narrated by Therese Plummer and Jay Snyder and both were just perfect for their parts. They made this short novella come alive and I thought both did such a fantastic job. It was such a fun audio and I really enjoyed it!
