#FitReaders: Weekly Check-in December 16

#FitReaders is hosted by Geeky Bloggers Book Blog  and That’s What I’m Talking About

Another good week. We had some really cold weather and some snow – winter is definitely making it’s appearance early this year! The dogs love being out in the snow – it’s times like this that I so wish our yard was fenced in so the dogs could just go out and play! But, I’m afraid they would run – at least one of them, if they saw anyone walking by, so it’s not worth it! So, leash walks it is for now! And at least I get the steps in 🙂

December Goals:

  • 10K steps M-F, at least 7,500 steps on the weekend – 5/5, 2/2
  • 30 minutes of active walking every day, M-F – met
  • Eat
mindfully/eat enough (esp. in important while training!) – met

My training plan for the Challenge Walk MS I’ll be doing in March of 2017:

  • 4 miles, 2 days a week, interval training – Met
  • Distance walks (distances will vary, try to do 2 days, back-to-back ) – Didn’t do this week
  • Try to attend one yoga class a week- didn’t make it this week 🙁

Here’s how my week went:

Dec 10:  10,396 steps
Dec 11:  9,627 steps
Dec 12:  16,439 steps (5K+ – 4.28 Charity Miles for MS)

Dec 13:  13,123 steps
Dec 14:  18,263 steps (5K+ – 4 Charity Miles for MS)

Dec 15:  17,378 steps (5K+ – 4.5 Charity Miles for MS)

Dec 16:  22,247 steps (5K+ – 4.31 Charity Miles for MS)
Total Steps: 107,473 steps

Audiobooks listened to this week (since I’m not much of a music fan, I listen to books while I walk):

  • Started & Finished The Stepmother by Claire Seeber, narrated by Karina Fernandez
  • Started & Finished The Invisible Guardian by Dolores Redondo, narrated by Coleen Marlo

How did your week go? You can find this week’s link-up here.

***In March of 2017, I’ll be doing the CHALLENGE WALK MS in Savannah, GA. It is a three-day, 50-mile walk that tests your strength and your
spirit, and makes an extraordinary difference in the lives of people
with MS and their families.

We got snow on Saturday and I did get some steps in when I shoveled. But then my neighbor came over with his snowblower and after he was done, I went back inside! 🙂
