2015 Goals for Reading/Blogging/Fitness

I have done this the last 2 years, and it helped me
set myself up for the upcoming year. I think this will be a fixed
feature on January 1 of each year I blog.

One

of my resolutions for 2015 is to be
more organized – in life and in blogging. I need to get back to using my
blogger planner. While this was one of my main goals last year, it
continues to be the focus of this year. I seem to start out the year
with great intentions, but things seem to go awry pretty quickly, so I’m
determined to keep on task this year!

Reading Goals:

*
I want to read more of my own books just because I have some good books sitting there waiting to be read!

*
Just have fun reading – while I’m not a mood reader, per say, there are
times when I just want to read what I want. So, I want to make sure I
don’t overextend myself with review books. It’s very hard and tempting
to take on all the books that I get offered, but that’s what bookstores
and libraries are for! I’m going to be selective and take on only what I
really want and what I think I can handle.
* For those review books I do agree to take on that have a
set review date, I am going to try to read ahead of schedule. This past
year I found myself reading them at the last minute and feeling a bit
frantic writing up the review – no more of that!!!

Blogging Goals:

* Organized…Mantra of the year! I have
my blog planner/calendar and am going to try to be better at scheduling
things ahead of time. Some of this goes hand in hand with making sure
books that need to be read by a certain date are read in a more timely
fashion!

*
Commenting – I am hoping to be more present in the blogosphere again. My goal is to visit at least 5-10 blogs that I follow per day –
I think this is manageable!

* Try to write some discussion posts throughout the year. I’ve done a few in the past and they tend to be quite popular.

*I’m
contemplating changing around my blog design. Not sure if I want to
make the switch from Blogger to WordPress, but I do think I want to
switch things up. I have some research to do, so don’t be surprised if
you stop by and see things moved around!

Bookish Events:
*
I am going to BEA again this year and cannot wait. I plan to be more
organized beforehand, researching what books will be available/what
authors will be present and which publishers/publicists will be there. I
made some great contacts there (mainly audio contacts) and want to make
sure I continue to network to the fullest extent while there. I also
hope to meet more bloggers there this time!
*
I also hope to continue attending as many author events that are near
me as I can – I so enjoy going to them and getting to know those authors
I love to read on a more personal level.

Fitness:

* I am training to walk another 1/2 marathon in the Spring and possibly my first full marathon this year.

* I also plan to continue to participate with the #FITREADERS
group that Felicia over at The Geeky Bloggers Book Blog has
started…it’s fun having a group you report back to (even virtually) to
hold you accountable for your fitness goals!!!

* I hope to get back to my yoga practice on a more regular basis.

I
have really come to enjoy blogging and look forward to this upcoming
year. Have you created any reading or blogging goals for the year?

Those are some great goals and sound similar to mine. Although I'm not currently planning a half or full marathon!

Good luck with your plans! I'm also doing #fitreaders and I also hope to read more of my own books this year. The pile is getting too high!

These are fantastic goals!!! I do agree with you on reading for fun…there are times I just want to request so many, but I have been trying to read more from the library or buy those books I am just dying to read. Good luck with your goals for the year!! Happy New Years!!

I joined FitReaders too and more yoga is on my agenda.

I accomplished a few of your reading goals last year but reading even more of my own/older books is one that I'm carrying over for 2015. I still have way too many books on the shelves.

So many great goals! I wish you look with all of them! I'm definitely going to working harder on taking less review books so I can read my own books and books that I want to read. I feel like those got lost in the shuffle last year.

Those are awesome goals. I'm going to try to lay off the review books and read more of what I own too.

Wonderful goals, Kristin! Writing them down is the first step toward reaching them. Happy New Year!

Great goals. I joined a discussion challenge this year, and went in very low as I am not sure if I can do it, but I guess risking is good.
I am hoping to move to WordPress this year, although I will get someone to do it for me and I'll move to self hosted with Creative Whim, Ashley over at Nose Graze. A little ( maybe more nervous!)
