The Sunday Post #31 (7.13.14)

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted @ Caffeinated Book Reviewer.
It’s a chance to share news. A post to recap the past week, showcase books and things we have received and share news about
what is coming up on our blog for the week ahead.

I’ve
decided to try a new weekly meme – a place where I can do both a weekly
wrap up and share what books I get all in one post, so I’m going to
give The Sunday Post a try, and also link up with Sheila’s It’s Monday Post over at Book Journey.

So, this week I’m on call for Jury Duty. I had to call in on Friday and was told that I don’t have to come in on Monday, but have to call in again Monday after 5:30pm. It’s really hard to plan for the week if I’m going to have to wait each day to see if I have to go in each day…what a pain! I’d rather know one way or the other – I’m a planner and need to know!!!

Have a great week everyone!!!

That day by day thing would drive me insane! How are you supposed to make any plans of schedules? I need to read more Kristan Higgins. I've only read one (I think the one you're listening to) and while I didn't love the characters I really enjoyed the writing. Good luck with jury duty!

I know, right…and of course, I'm a bit slammed at work right now, so this day by day thing isn't helping! Oh well.

The Kristan Higgins book is actually the 3rd in her Blue Heron series and it's quite a fun series…but she does have some stand alone books, too. I enjoy her books – they're light, fun and quick reads!

The call in system for jury duty is frustrating! Thank you for your service. I worked in the court system for years, back then people had to show up and then get dismissed. You had a great reading week.

Yes, frustrating is a good word for it. I don't mind having jury duty – in fact, I've never actually been on a jury and wouldn't mind serving. But the whole having to wait each day to see if I have to go in the next day is a pain in the neck!

I have had The Butcher for a month, I need to get to it, but have seen mixed reviews, sigh. Look forward to your reviews, especially Little Mercies.

To bad with jury duty, the day to day sucks. I did a case a couple years ago that lasted 3 weeks.

I just got it and am hoping to get to it soon, but have so many other books…have you read her other books?

      Little Mercies was really good!

I have never been called for jury duty. That not knowing would drive me crazy. Come see my week here. Happy reading!

I've never been called up for jury duty but the not knowing in advance would drive me nuts. Little Mercies was one of my favourites this year. I'm curious about The Queen's Exile and looking forward to your review of That Night. Enjoy your reads 🙂

Jury duty can be frustrating — they demand that you be available, then they leave you hanging, not knowing what comes next.

I liked That Night by Chevy Stevens. I hope you enjoyed it too.
