It’s Monday…What Are You Reading? (6.17.13)

It’s Monday What Are you Reading , hosted by Sheila, is the perfect way
for me to
begin my week and allows me to
focus on what
needs to be read and to see what I
have or have not
accomplished the previous week.
I also enjoy
discovering new books by
visiting other participants
blogs.

On Saturday, I met my mom in New York City and we did a walking tour through Greenwich Village and the best part was that it was a book tour! Adriana Trigiani, one of my favorite authors, has a tour company called Adriana Trigiani Tours, and they provide walking book tours in the city that take you through parts of the city through her characters’ eyes. I’ve read just about all her books and my mom has read a few, but even if you hadn’t read any of her books, the tour was still really interesting. The tours are kept small, which is nice -there were only four of us on the tour and our tour guide, Nikki, was fantastic!!! I will definitely be doing some of her other walking tours. And will be looking to see if there are any other authors or companies that provide book tours. Do you know of any?

What a fun tour! I sent a literary Google map – Google Lit Trips – to a book friend who headed off to Paris last week. I hope she will get to stop in to some of the places on the map!

Here's my It's Monday! What Are You Reading? Hope you will stop by!

That book tour sounds like a lot of fun and if I ever get to New York I hope I get the chance to experience it too. I have only read one of Adriana Trigiani's books (The Shoemaker's Wife) but I loved it.

I hope you enjoy The Winter Sea. It is one of my favorites. Have a great week!

Oh…I think you would like her. The Shoemaker's Wife is my favorite of hers, but her Valentine series is great and Lucia Lucia, a stand-alone, is good, too!

Luckily we have a good library system – there's 17 libraries in my county and we can also borrow from another county, so I usually have no problem getting good audios!

I love the idea of a walking book tour, what a great idea! I don't know of any though I'm afraid.

I've been very curious about Deconstructing Amelia, I'm interested to hear what you thought of that one.
