Stacking the Shelves (23) 11.11.12

Tynga of Tynga’s Reviews is starting a new meme to spotlight the books we receive each week.  Here’s what I got:

  From the Library:

The Perfect Hope

by Nora Roberts

This
is the final book in Nora Roberts’ Inn BoonsBoro trilogy and I loved it – review should be up later this week!

High Five (audio)

by Janet Evanovich

I’m slowly making my way through this series, and even though I have the paperback version of this book sitting on my bookshelf, I just love the audio…I just might do this entire series (minus book 1) in audio!

From PaperbackSwap:

Redwood Bend

by Robyn Carr

I went on a shopping spree on PaperbackSwap this past week and ordered a ton of books – this is the first to arrive and it’s book 18 in Robyn Carr’s Virgin River series. I love this series!!!

What did you get this week?

Thanks…already finished The Perfect Hope (loved it) and am currently listening to High Five (loving it so far!).

You're listening to the Stephanie Plum series? Talk about commitment! People at work are constantly looking for & buying those books and they seem like something I'd enjoy (I'm a big fan of cozies). Perhaps audio is the way to go; I've certainly got plenty of time during my commute.

Same goes for Nora. She's got roughly 500 books (give a take a few :D) and although I've been willing to give her a shot, the sheer scope of her work is intimidating.

That said, I really hope you enjoy your books!

Here's what I got this week!

I read the first book and then thought I would try the audio and just love the narrator – CJ Critt is awesome. I do know that the narrator switches soon, but I hear that she's pretty good, too. Listening to them on audio right now is the only way I can get to them – too many other books sitting on my shelves!

I've read most of Nora Roberts' books – but not the ones she writes as JD Robb – and I can't think of a single one that I didn't like. She's got a lot of series but just as many stand-alones, which I like just as much. I'm currently listening to Chasing Fire (stand-alone) and it's awesome!

I got my copy of A Perfect Hope this week but haven't had a chance to read it – maybe over Thanksgiving Break. I am determined to whittle down my review stack first. If you have a chance, check out my new books posts at Ms. Martin Teaches Media and Inside of a Dog. Happy reading!

I just couldn't wait to read it. I was actually in the middle of another book and put that one aside just to read The Perfect Hope…such a great ending to a great series!

Nice. These look like some nice contemporary reads. Nice haul of books.

The Perfect Hope was great and I just love both the Stephanie Plum series and the Virgin River series, so I am expecting they will all be enjoyable!

She's one of my go-to authors – just can't go wrong with her!

Enjoy your reading and listening, Kristin! I can't believe how prolific Nora Roberts is (Leah's comment)!

She definitely is prolific! I read most of her stuff, but none of the books she's written as JD Robb…just never got into those books.
