It’s Monday…What Are You Reading? (7.23.12)

It’s Monday What Are you Reading , hosted by Sheila, isthe perfect way
for me to
begin my week and allows me to
focus on what
needs to be read and to see what I
have or have not
accomplished the previous week.
I also enjoy
discovering new books by
visiting other participants
blogs.

Some of you might have noticed that I was basically MIA last week – and it was totally unplanned. I somehow ended up hurting my back at some point Monday, so sitting at the computer didn’t really help. I had had such grand plans of trying to catch up on some reviews before going away for the weekend, and as you will see below, didn’t get to any of them. I didn’t even get all that much reading done during the week as I had a hard time getting comfortable in one position and it was hard to read laying on my back on the floor with my legs up – plus the dog kept thinking it was time to play every time I did get on the floor.

Luckily it started feeling better towards the weekend and I didn’t have to cancel my beach trip! We had such great weather and a blast playing on the beach with my nephew. I even dug up some of my beachy picture books to share with my nephew and they were a big hit!

Hopefully this week, I will have some time to get to those reviews!

A perfect time to reading Gold by Chris Cleave. My book club read his Little Bee and enjoyed it. Hope you feel better soon.

It's really good so far! I read Little Bee for my book club, too. Did you read Incendiary yet? I still need to read that one.

I look forward to hearing what you think of The Great Escape. I am on the waiting list for it at the library.

I loved The Great Escape…loved reading about Lucy and what she did after walking out on her own wedding!

Gold is really good…I'm almost finished with it and am hoping to have my review up later this week – just before the Olympics officially start!

I'm looking forward to reading your upcoming reviews, you seem to pick the same sorts of books that I do. 😉 I see that you are going to do a Wolf Hall read-a-long? I've never done one of those either, but I happen to be in the middle of that book right now and I'm really digging it!

    Happy reading this week!
