Today is day two of Armchair BEA and we’re talking about the best books we’ve read in 2012. I want to share a few of my favorite reads this year. I don’t always read brand new books, so to me, I am taking this to mean books that I’ve read in 2012 that I’ve loved but may or may not have been published in 2012.

Hands down this is my favorite book so far this year. I mentioned it yesterday in my intro post and I can’t say enough about it. You can read my review here.

I've read the Trigiani book but not the others. I do want to read The Girl Who Chased the Moon, though.

I've read quite a few of Adriana Trigiani's books and have enjoyed them all.
The Sister Queens looks good. On Goodreads it goes.
It was really good! Now I want to read more about these sisters.
Many seem to love SarahAA books, I have considered trying them.
They are fun, quick books. I've read The Sugar Queen, The Peach Keeper and The Girl Who Chased the Moon – they are all great!
Wow, I've not heard of any of these books! Apparently, I need to get out and read even more, especially in the historical fiction department. Great choices!
I'm always looking for good historical fiction reads, especially those that are set during the Tudor period!

I love Sara Addison Allen's books. I didn't know that Trigiani had a new book out until today. I have it reserved at the library now.
It's soooo good!!! I really need to go out and buy a copy of it for my collection – I had gotten it from the library, too.
Another vote for The Shoemaker's Wife! I will have to read that book. 🙂

The Sister Queens was really good. I usually just read books set during the Tudor period and this one was before that time. Now I was to read more about the sisters!
I am on the waiting list for The Shoemaker's Wife at the library. I've heard fantastic reviews on that one. The Allen book is one waiting for me to have some time to read. I've been told its one of her best ones, along with Garden Spells.
The Shoemaker's Wife is amazing…hope you enjoy it! I haven't read Garden Spells yet – but it's on my tbr list!

I'm thrilled to see Sarah Addison Allen on your list! She's a local author for me, and I just love her work. I've seen her speak a couple of times, and she is very funny and charming in person as well!
Very jealous! I wish she would come speak somewhere near me – I would even be willing to drive a bit!!!
Sister Queens (just flipped over to your review)–this sentence convinced me I should give it a whirl: I also like how Sophie Perinot gives readers a different perspective of Henry and Louis. She doesn't just focus on what they did for their countries during their reigns, but looks deeper, focusing on the relationships they have with their wives and children. She shows that even if they might have been one of the most favored kings, they were not necessarily the best husband or father.
I love that the focus was on their relationships and not reigns 🙂
It was a really interesting book. Now I am intrigued with these sisters queens and want to read more about them. One in particular is Four Sisters, All Queens by Sherry Jones.
