My thoughts: This was a touching and emotional read that included the usual twists and turns that James Patterson is known for. I found myself totally engaged in this story and didn’t put it down until I finished it.
Gaby Summerhill is getting married and she’s decided the big event will take place on Christmas Day. The problem is that she is waiting until that day to announce who her groom will be. She has received three marriage proposals and after grieving for her first husband, Peter, for the past three years, she feels it’s time to move on. Not even the grooms know who she will be choosing. Part of the reason for keeping this a secret is that she wants to get her four adult children home for the holidays and decides this will almost certainly guarantee them showing up. Of course, each are dealing with their own problems. Claire is having marital troubles; Lizzie’s husband is fighting cancer; Emily is a very successful lawyer who is married but puts in way to much time at her job; and Seth is trying to get a book published.
Even though the story is told mainly from Gaby’s point of view, there are chapters featuring the views of each of her children. This is done in a smooth transition from one family member to another making it a well-balanced story. We also get to meet the three potential grooms, who are all a part of Gaby’s everyday life. There are quite a few surprises thrown in and even I was not sure until the very end who Gaby was going to wind up with.

This was by far the worst James Patterson book I've ever read. I didn't find any twists or turns at all. It read like a corny Lifetime movie. Very dissapointed.
