The love of reading

I can identify with the title to this blog because I AM always with a book. From an early age I fell in love with reading and have never stopped. I keep a book stashed for any downtime I have and often have two or three I am reading that I bounce back and forth from. I read all different genres often picking up a book that reflects my mood (and why I usually have two or three going at the same time). I consider myself lucky my parents instilled this love of books in me and that they made reading such a joy. This love of reading is what inspired me to write which I have done from a very early age. I wanted to create stories much like the ones I was reading.

As an only child I had many fantasies in my head and was able to entertain myself that way. I thought surely if I could entertain myself with the imaginary characters in my head if I put them to paper I could entertain someone else. That started me on the road to writing as much as I was reading. As an adult I still have the stories in my head but unlike when I was a child I am able to get them out in full (most of the time) and get them published. I am so lucky to be able to share my stories.

The love to read is a great gift. One more important to me than writing even is. Reading is entertainment, it is knowledge, it is a way to enjoy solitude and relax. If you haven’t done it in a while pick up a book and try it. I promise you it will be enjoyable.
