Teaser Tuesdays (11.30.10)

MizB of Should Be Reading hosts Teaser Tuesday. Anyone can play along! Just do the following:

  • Grab your current read
  • Open to a random page
  • Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
  • BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
  • Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!

Here’s a tease of what I am currently reading:

One of the things I would have to explain to the girls from back home, if I was telling them this story, is the simple little word horror. It means something different to the people from my village.

From Little Bee by Chris Cleave, pg. 45.

Please leave a comment with a link to your teaser so I can stop by.

That is rather intriguing. I have seen this book around but have never thought it was for me. I'll be eager to read your review. I have two this week. My YA teaser is from Choker by Elizabeth Woods and my adult teaser is from Masques by Patricia Briggs. Happy reading!

    I agree with Kathy – it's quite intriguing. I have to wonder…

Here is my teaser from The Wolves of Andover by Kathleen Kent (Page 8):

Martha saw it all clear in that moment: this was the instant her place in the family would be decided. If she lost her footing at the outset, she would forever be dealt with as no more than a servant.

Hmmm. Makes me wonder exactly what "horror" means to the people of the village….
