Do you snack while you read? If so, favorite reading snack:

Not usually. I do tend to read while eating breakfast and lunch (only during the week while hubby is at work), but other than that, I am not a big snacker.

What is your favorite drink while reading?

I usually always have a glass of water near me – in bed, on the couch, in the car. The only other drink that I sometimes lean to is a nice cuppa tea – especially on rainy days or during the winter months.

Do you tend to mark your books as you read, or does the idea of writing in books horrify you?

I usually do not mark my books – unless I come across a saying that I absolutely love. When I do mark them, I usually leave a sticky note in the book on that particular page – I am not a huge fan of writing in books.

How do you keep your place while reading a book? Bookmark? Dog-ears? Laying the book flat open?

I use bookmarks – anything from an actual bookmark, to a sticky note, to a random piece of paper.

Fiction, non-fiction, or both?

Mostly fiction, although I do pick up nonfiction every once in a while, particularly biographies.

Are you a person who tends to read to the end of a chapter, or can you stop anywhere?

I like to try to stop at the end of a chapter, when I can. Otherwise I look for breaks within the chapter. The only time I stop anywhere is when I start to fall asleep while reading or when I’m in the doctor’s waiting room and get called to go in.

Are you the type of person to throw a book across the room or on the floor if the author irritates you?

No. If I was to get frustrated with an author, I think I would just close the book.

If you come across an unfamiliar word, do you stop and look it up right away?

No, usually I can figure it out with the surrounding text.

What are you currently reading?

I am reading Get Lucky by Katherine Center.

What is the last book you bought?

Shanghai Girls by Lisa See.

Are you the type of person that reads one book at a time, or can you read more than one?

I only read one book at a time. I wish I could read more than one, but I tend to get so lost in the book I am reading, that I can’t think possibly think about another story line.

Do you have a favorite time/place to read?

I love to read anywhere, but if I had to pick one place, it would be sitting on the deck of the boat club overlooking the water.

Do you prefer series books or stand alones?

I love series – simply for the fact that you are able to stay with a set of characters for a while. I tend to be quite anal in my reading of series – I must start at the beginning with book 1. If I do happen to pick up a book that’s part of a series, I will go back and read any that came before and sometimes even reread the one I started with – I feel that you really understand the character development that way. Of course, I also read stand alones, but if I had to choose – series would win every time.

Is there a specific book or author you find yourself recommending over and over?

Yes. Many times, as I am reading a book, I am thinking about who else would like it. A few that I have been recommending over and over again are:  The Postmistress by Sarah Blake, The Queen’s Dollmaker by Christine Trent, and anything by Debbie Macomber or Elin Hilderbrand

How do you organize your books? (by genre, title, author’s last name, etc.)

I tend to put all the hardcovers together by author and all the paperbacks together by author. I do have a separate section of the bookshelf for my TBR pile as well and then they get filed in wherever they fit once read.

Great answers! I had fun doing this "quiz" too! I'm glad I'm not the only one who will re-read a book if it's been read in the wrong order. 🙂
