Summary:
A missing girl. A frantic mother. A desperate search.
Across the country, notes taped to restroom stalls read, “On a date that isn’t going well? Ask for Andrea at the bar. We’ll make sure you get home safe.”
But Andrea—the girl behind the campaign—didn’t make it home safe.
She disappeared without a trace at seventeen. The police labeled her a runaway, and the case went cold. That is, until her mother, Sabina, starts digging for answers.
But the closer she gets to the truth; the clearer it becomes that not everyone wants Andrea to be found. A predator is hiding in plain sight, keeping close tabs on the search. And he’ll do whatever it takes to make sure his secrets stay buried.
Forget You Saw Her is the chilling standalone prequel to the international bestseller Ask for Andrea.
My thoughts:
How is it possible that not only did this book freak me out but also had me in tears?!? Ask for Andrea was one of the most surprising books I’ve read this year and when I heard Ihli was giving us a prequel, I knew I had to read it — and just know these are both amazing on audio!
Having read a few of Ihli’s books so far, I know how unique and chilling they can be, but this one goes beyond that–in the best way possible. It’s so intense and haunting…and really takes an emotional toll on you as the reader. I don’t even want to say anything more for fear of spoilers.
This book has the ability to break you, but it also has the ability to anger you. All the emotions will, and should, come out…I’m not sure how they won’t as you read this. I finished this and just sat there, thinking for a while…that’s how powerful and hard-hitting I found this one to be.
Audio thoughts:
This is narrated by three amazing narrators — Brittany Pressley, Carlotta Brentan and Andi Arndt — and all brought their A-game, making it impossible to put down until I finished listening.
Final thoughts:
Noelle Ihle has proven she is a must-read for me. Her books are never easy to read, yet they are addicting, often emotionally charged reads that you don’t easily forget.
