My thoughts:
I am a huge fan of Karin Slaughter, first of her stand-alones and then her Grant County/Will Trent series. When I heard she was writing a new series, I was thrilled…and let me tell you, in true Karin Slaughter form, the threads have been placed and I cannot wait to see how that brilliant mind of hers comes back to them book after book, as she so skillfully yet magically does.
This book is amazing and I’m already attached to the characters. True to a KS book, it’s dark and gritty, yet there was also an emotional component to this book I wasn’t expecting – it’s so emotionally charged, it was hard not to feel a wide range of emotions while reading this one.
This is such a layered, complex plot with twists that keep coming. And the character development even in just this 1st book was outstanding…I can’t wait to see how it continues book after book!
I highly recommend this one. It might be on the longish side, but believe me when I say, you’ll be so invested in what is going on, the pages will turn themselves.
