Thirteen by Steve Cavanagh #bookreview #audiobook #series

I purchased this book for my own collection. I borrowed the audiobook from the library.

Publisher: Flatiron Books / Macmillan Audio

Published: April 2020 (first published 2018)

Summary:

The serial killer isn’t on trial.
He’s on the jury.

It’s the murder trial of the century. And Joshua Kane has killed to get the best seat in the house – and to be sure the wrong man goes down for the crime. Because this time, the killer isn’t on trial. He’s on the jury.

But there’s someone on his tail. Former-conman-turned-criminal-defense-attorney Eddie Flynn doesn’t believe that his movie-star client killed two people. He suspects that the real killer is closer than they think – but who would guess just how close?

My thoughts:

This is the 4th book in the Eddie Flynn series and I am loving this series so much!!! I had to skip the previous book, The Liar, because I could not get my hands on it, but as soon as I do, I’ll be reading it and then continuing on with the series.

This installment was such a wild ride – the killer was hiding on the jury! These books are so clever, and the twists and turns really keep me guessing all the way up to the very end. I also loved that in this one, we got segments from the killer’s POV…boy was he calculating and cold. But yet he proved no match for our Eddie Flynn!!

Audio thoughts:

I love that Adam Sims continues to be the narrator for this series! His consistency with the voices from book to book is amazing! Plus he does a fantastic job bringing the story to life!!
