Month in Review: September 2022

Is it just me or did September fly by? I swear I feel like I was just putting August’s wrap-up together and here we are doing September’s. This time of year always seems to go by so fast.

My main goal for September was to balance what I read and I was definitely successful in that. I read more of my own books and a bunch of backlist books and really enjoyed doing that. I didn’t feel the pressure of having to read all the new books – something I need to remind myself of moving forward. I will most likely continue this trend this month, especially as I will be away for 2 weeks and I don’t want to have to stress about having any books read by a certain date. When I request books, I always try to honor those commitments, so taking step back right now is just good timing – plus let’s be honest, it’s not as it I don’t have a ton of books sitting on my shelf waiting to be read!

October is a time for spooky reads and I definitely have a bunch I am going to try to get to – some new, some old. And then November brings both #NonfictionNovember and #NordicNoirNovember, both of which I will be participating in, so I am already to put books aside for this as well. And then we have December and I already have a bunch of holiday reads set aside. And that’s the rest of the year! How is that possible?

I will be curating some lists for each of the above on my page on Bookshop.org. Again, by shopping here, you are supporting independent bookstores and books are shipping directly to you…it’s definitely a win-win.
