Summary:

The next thrilling standalone novel by USA Today bestselling author Hank Phillippi Ryan.

Everyone knows Lily Atwood—and that may be her biggest problem. The beloved television reporter has it all—fame, fortune, Emmys, an adorable seven-year-old daughter, and the hashtag her loving fans created: #PerfectLily. To keep it, all she has to do is protect one life-changing secret.

Her own.

Lily has an anonymous source who feeds her story tips—but suddenly, the source begins telling Lily inside information about her own life. How does he—or she—know the truth?

Lily understands that no one reveals a secret unless they have a reason. Now she’s terrified someone is determined to destroy her world—and with it, everyone and everything she holds dear.

How much will she risk to keep her perfect life?

My thoughts:

I have been a fan of Hank Phillippi Ryan for quite some time and am always left stunned at her books and this one was no exception. This was one of my most anticipated reads for this month and it totally delivers.

This book is full of suspense and twists. It pulls you in right from the start and is one wild ride, with characters that you aren’t sure are completely trustworthy and secrets galore. The pacing is nearly pitch-perfect and it is definitely one of those books that I found myself saying “just one more chapter” as I flew through the pages.

How far will someone go to keep a secret hidden? This is just one of the themes touched upon here. It also looks at the life we project outwardly versus the life we really lead. To the world everyone thinks Lily is perfect, but deep down, she has a past that she has gone to great lengths to keep hidden. And she is afraid that this secret is suddenly about to become uncovered.

This is such a smart, thrilling read and I loved that many of the chapters ended with mini-cliffhangers, which only beg you to keep reading. The story alternates between Lily, Greer and Cassie, giving depth to an already layered story. Most of the story happens in the present, with glimpses into the past, which give us some details surrounding what happened with Cassie.

This one really kept me guessing all the way until the very end. I had no idea where it was heading and I absolutely loved it! I had no idea who to trust and who was reliable and the further in I got, the more confused I got as to where the book might be heading. I had such a hard time putting this one down because I needed answers.

I cannot recommend this book enough. It is addicting and completely binge-worthy and filled with deliciously fun characters. I’ve loved all of Hank Phillippi Ryan’s books, but this might just be my new favorite!
