***Short & Sweet Reviews are
short, quick reviews. These will mainly be used for series books where I
have already done full reviews on some of the earlier books or for
books that I feel will suffice with a quick review. These will not be
used for review requests or blog tours.

My thoughts:This is the second BookShots book I’ve read by James Patterson – and what a difference! I liked this one so much better than the last one!!! This one is actually written like his full-length novels, full of twists and turns that kept me on edge, pulling me in right from the start and keeping me engaged throughout.

A family is in hiding, but it’s not made clear the reason why. Their bodyguard is quite mysterious and I was unsure which side he was really on the whole time. The family’s secret ways arouse suspicions from their neighbor, a retired cop – who I immediately fell in love with – I would love to see a story just on him!

The only problem with this type of short format is that the action is so quick, the story is so condensed that you quickly become attached to the characters and then the ending comes on and boom, it’s over! I actually wanted more of this one…I didn’t want it to end when it did. But all in all, this was a good little mystery and I enjoyed it! I will definitely be reading more of these BookShots, especially since some of them are part of the series I read.
