My thoughts:This is Robyn Carr’s newest stand-alone book and I really enjoyed it. I’ve long been a fan of Robyn’s books – she’s written quite a few series that I absolutely adore, including the Virgin River and Thunder Point series, and then she has a stand–alones. While I haven’t read as many of those, I’m so glad I picked this one up…I found myself completely engaged from beginning to end.
What I love about Robyn Carr’s books, and this one in particular, is that she writes about real women, women you can relate to. This was an emotional tale about two women who ended up getting a second chance in life, and those second chances weren’t always easy to come by.
It was so easy to be pulled into these women’s lives. The emotional pull that Robyn Carr is able to achieve with her writing is remarkable…the emotions that run through this book are palpable and will have you feeling as if you are experiencing all that the characters are. That’s what I love about these books – you feel everything – the good and the bad.
Robyn Carr is always a good choice when wanting a good escape read, but this was a little more than that. Yes, there was romance, but even that was rife with problems and was not treated lightly. This is the type of book that has a little bit of everything and when you come to the end, you know you’ve read a good book! I look forward to reading more of Robyn Carr – both with her series and her stand–alones, as I haven’t been disappointed yet!
Sounds pretty good; I will add it to my TBR. I loved the first of her Thunder Point series. The Virgin River one I definitely want to get into.
I really enjoyed this one too, I like her stand alones very much although very happy with her romance ones as well. Yay for Robyn Carr!
