#FitReaders: Weekly Check-in August 5

#FitReaders is hosted by Geeky Bloggers Book Blog  and That’s What I’m Talking About

I’m in the middle of a 2-week vacation…the first week was spent at home and the second week will be spent at the beach!!! Because I plan on doing nothing more than sitting on the beach, resting, relaxing and reading and enjoying a cocktail or two (my favorite at the moment is Verdi Champagne), I made sure to get some good workouts in this week – I did a 5K in every day and even got in my 10K for the month!

 My August Goals:

* Because I will be starting my training schedule for the big walk in September, I am using August as a “rest month.”

  • 10K steps M-F, at least 7,500 steps on the weekend
  • 30 minutes of active walking every day
  • Eat
    mindfully

Here’s how my week went:

Jul 30:  8,085 steps
Jul 31:  7,596 steps
Aug  1:  15,097 steps
(5K – 3.55 Charity Miles for MS Society)

Aug  2:  17,366 steps (5K – 3.18 Charity Miles for MS Society)
Aug  3:  16,591 steps (5K – 3.76 Charity Miles for MS Society)

Aug  4:  23,378 steps (10K- 6.55 Charity Miles for MS Society)

Aug  5:  10,157 steps (5K – 3.4 Charity Miles for MS Society)
Total Steps: 103,934 steps

Audiobooks listened to this week:

  • Finished What Doesn’t Kill Her by Carla Norton, narrated by Christina Delaine
  • Started and Finished It Ends With Us by Colleen Hoover, narrated by Olivia Song
  • Started and Finished The Ice Princess by Camilla Way, narrated by David Thorn

***In March of 2017, I’ll be doing the CHALLENGE WALK MS in Savannah, GA. It is a three-day, 50-mile walk that tests your strength and your
spirit, and makes an extraordinary difference in the lives of people
with MS and their families.

That was a great plan to get in a lot of walking before the beach. But you can walk the beach, too! With a cocktail in hand – or make sure you put your beach chair far from the bar/cabana… steps back and forth! 😉 Enjoy!
