#FitReaders: Weekly Check-in July 1

#FitReaders is hosted by Geeky Bloggers Book Blog  and That’s What I’m Talking About

This week I took a step back and just wanted to get in my 30 minutes of walking each day and make my 10K step goal M-F. I went hard-core the week prior, which while fun, I cannot keep up every week. I also added some body-weight strength training – every other day, starting out with push-ups. I’m starting out small and hoping that by making this a habit, I will continue to do it!

My goals for July are as follows:

  • 10K steps M-F, at least 7,500 steps on the weekend
  • Strength-training exercises 3x a week
  • Yoga 2-3 times a week – at least 15 minutes
  • Eat mindfully – continue to drink a minimum of 64 oz of water, limit caffeine intake, up intake of fruits and veggies, up intake of protein at each meal, limit intake of sugar.

Here’s how my week went:

Jun 25:  8,994 steps
Jun 26:  8,550 steps
Jun 27:  16,945 steps
(5K – 3.5 Charity Miles for Girls on the Run)

Jun 28:  12,544 steps (30 min fitness walk)
Jun 29:  11,7263 steps (30 min fitness walk)

Jun 30:  10,069 steps (30 min fitness walk)

Jul  1:  14,484 steps (5K – 3.1 Charity Miles for Girls on the Run)
Total Steps: 83,312 steps

Great goals for July! I keep saying this, but not following through: I need to add strength training to my routine. It's just so much work, I honestly am scared of it. I need to find something easy I can do in 20 minutes, a few times per week. Great job in June!!
