First Book of the Year 2016

Each year, Sheila over at Book Journey makes a big deal over what the first book she’ll read will be for the new year and once again she’s asked us to join her. I joined in last year and it was a lot of fun seeing what book everyone selected.

For
my first book of the year, I decided to go with a book that I’m probably one of the last people to read…one that I really need to read before the movie comes out…have you guessed yet?

I’m going to be reading: Me Before You by Jojo Moyes. I’ve read so many of her other books (The Girl You Left Behind, The Last Letter From Your Lover, The Ship of Brides, One Plus One) and have had this one sitting on my shelf for over 2 years I’m embarrassed to say, but I just haven’t gotten around to reading it. I know it’s a great book, but it’s also an emotional read, so I think for that reason, I just kept putting it off. So, I thought this would be the perfect time to read it.

I’m looking forward to starting it…and reading the sequel, which I also have, just sitting on my shelf, waiting for me to find the time to read it (do you sense a theme here?)…

So, what’s your first book of 2015 going to be?

Happy new year to you and I hope that you enjoy your first book of the year. I have yet to read any of this authors books, but I have The Ship of Brides on my TBR.

I don't have a specific book picked out for my first book of the year because I am still working on other books I started in December.

You aren't the last – I have yet to read this novel, and stupidly so, Jojo Moyes work in general. I've heard such good things, but one of those authors I just keep putting off. I hope you enjoy, and have a wonderful new year!

Don't worry Kristin, despite being a big Jojo Moyes fan, I've not read this title either. If you've not already read it, I can personally recommend one of her earlier titles, The Peacock Emporium, too.

I haven't read it either. It's still waiting in my to-read pile. Everyone seems to love it though.
