#FitReaders: Weekly Check-in September 4

#FitReaders is hosted by Geeky Bloggers Book Blog  and That’s What I’m Talking About

I am back home and no have no more traveling planned for a while! I didn’t do anything the week I was at my mom’s and I was ok with that and this past week I decided I would just aim for getting in my 10k steps each day (M-F), which I did. It was a hot week, so I broke up my walks, but again, not having really done anything for a while now, I was pretty pleased with how the week went.

Since my mom was going to be my walking partner in the marathon in October and she just had hand surgery, we decided that probably wasn’t going to work out. So, we put it off for a year – hopefully we will be able to do it next year. I’m a little bummed, but on the other hand, a bit relieved since I really haven’t been doing much training lately. We’re going to look into doing another half in the late winter/spring, either the DC one that we’ve done already or maybe a different one. We did find out, for all you walkers out there, that ALL the Rock-&-Roll 1/2 Marathons are walker-friendly, even though they don’t necessarily advertise that they are. So that opens up a whole slew of walks we can do – and it’s always fun to visit new places.

Here’s how my week went:

Aug 29:  2,296 steps (in car all day, driving from NC to NY)
Aug 30:  6,121 steps
Aug 31:  2-15 minute fitness walks with dogs,
11,760 steps

Sep  1:  2-15 minute fitness walks with dogs, 11,774 steps
Sep  2:  2-15 minute fitness walks with dogs, 12,599 steps

Sep  3:  2-15 minute fitness walks with dogs, 11,078 steps

Sep  4:  2-15 minute fitness walks with dogs, 11,930 steps

You did great last week! I break up my walks most days. Trying to keep my metabolism going, haha. My husband and daughter walked the Chicago R&R 1/2 marathon several years ago. A year or two later she trained for and ran the Chicago marathon. I'm happy to get 10K/day 🙂 Have a good week, Kristin!
