My thoughts: Robyn Carr is one of those authors who’s series I have really come to love – I devoured Virgin River a few years back and now am reading her Thunder Point series as quickly as they are released. She also writes some stand-alone books and I’ve enjoyed every one I’ve read so far. While this one is actually a reissue, it is new to me, so I was quite happy to get a copy of it.

What I loved about this book, and what really called to me when reading the description of it, is that it’s about three sisters. Having two sisters myself, I find I can really relate to books that revolve around this, and the relationships between the sisters was a big part of this book. I found that it was quite easy to find bits and pieces of myself and my sisters within the lives of these three sisters – Clare, Maggie and Sarah. Much like Clare remembers, her and her sisters might not have been best friends growing up, but they certainly were in adulthood – this is exactly like me and my sisters! They are, without a doubt, my best friends, the ones I want to talk about when something is going on, the ones I want to share the good, the bad, and the ugly. I could clearly see that this was the same relationship these three sisters had.

The book also focuses on the relationships parents have with their children, whether they are grown adult children or still young ones. There were some really touching moments between Sarah and her father, as well as between Maggie and her two daughters, who have started to really give her a run for her money. Even Roger, Clare’s so-to-be ex-husband, has his work cut out for him with their son Jason, but we see the challenges they all face and how they try to work to overcome them. 

There is a lot to take away from this book besides it just being a really good read. I’m glad I read it and will certainly be recommending it not only to my two sisters, but to anyone else I think would enjoy it.
