The Sunday Post #38 (8.31.14)

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted @ Caffeinated Book Reviewer.
It’s a chance to share news. A post to recap the past week, showcase books and things we have received and share news about
what is coming up on our blog for the week ahead.

I’ve
decided to try a new weekly meme – a place where I can do both a weekly
wrap up and share what books I get all in one post, so I’m going to
give The Sunday Post a try, and also link up with Sheila’s It’s Monday Post over at Book Journey

So, this weekend, my husband was off sailing in his first big offshore race in the new boat – and as I write this I am anxiously awaiting to hear that he has crossed the finish line! The race started at noon on Friday off Stamford, CT with the course being to race up and around Martha’s Vineyard and back.

I spend the time reading – I never got around to reading Ken Follet’s Century Trilogy, so I thought this weekend would be a great time to get started. I made excellent progress in book 1, Fall of Giants – only have about 100 pages to go and am absolutely loving it!!! Maybe, just maybe, I can get to book 2 (Winter of the World) this week and then book 3 (Edge of Eternity) next week so that my review can be posted during its release!

Have a great week everyone!!!

I finished Fall of Giants last night…so good! Can't wait to start Winter of the World! Started Accidents of Marriage…have heard really good things about it! Did you ever read The Comfort of Lies by her? That was excellent!

I really should change that beginning part of this post – I've been doing this for a while now! But welcome to you!!! Hubby did get back safely, thank you! He was quite tired after sailing for almost 46 hours straight, but glad to have finished the race!

I have Accidents of Marriage on my TBR pile and I have the audio of Delicious! checked out from the library. I started listening to it but it didn't prove to be a good choice for driving. Maybe I will get a print version and enjoy it more.

Hope you have a great week!

I started Accidents of Marriage last night…pretty good so far! Did you read her last book, The Comforts of Lies? That was excellent! I really enjoyed Delicious! on audio – sorry to hear you didn't, but maybe the print version will be better for you.

I want to read Accidents of Marriage – many readers seem to have good things to say about it. Sailing sounds great up and around Martha's Vineyard sounds lyrical to me. I always imagine it as a wonderful place. Tell him to come sailing in New Zealand some time!

I started Accidents of Marriage last night – so far it's quite good. The race was good – just long. It's been quite a while since my husband was on a boat for that long – not since his navy days!!! But he did well and he finished which was his goal.

I hope your husband did well in his race. It sounds like quite an absorbing trilogy that you are reading. Happy reading!

I really should read the Century Trilogy because I love all of Ken Follett's other books. They just look like very long reads and I've been into short reads lately.
46 hours sailing? No wonder you were worried!
