My thoughts: I just love Sophie Kinsella’s books – they are witty, funny and light-hearted and sure to have you laughing-out-loud at least a half-dozen times, if not more. On top of that, she creates memorable characters that seem to find themselves involved in some rather crazy antics.
I loved how the story alternated between the two sisters. This really allows us to get to know both Fliss and Lottie, understanding their motivations for what they do. Even though the two sisters were quite a bit different, I found that at certain times, I could relate to each of them. Although, as the older sister myself, I don’t think I would ever go to the lengths that Fliss went to in order to keep Lottie from enjoying her wedding night with Ben. That might be taking things a bit too far in my opinion, but did provide for many laughs and cringe-worthy moments!
While there are some situations that seem a bit over the top, they were paired with some more serious situations. It’s this pairing that keeps the momentum going and the story engaging. With all the craziness going on, it’s hard to predict what would happen next and I loved that! I know going into these types of books that there isn’t going to be any deep thinking going on – these books are for pure enjoyment and that’s why I pick them up. Sophie Kinsella is definitely on the go-to list of authors that fit that category.

Audio Thoughts: I loved the cast of this audio production! I’ve listened to Jane Entwistle before and love her voice. The other two narrators, FionaHardingham and Mark Bramhall were both new-to-me. While Mark didn’t have many lines throughout the book, Fiona certainly had her fair share and I will definitely be checking out what else she narrates.
I love Sophie's writing voice. I will have to put this on my library list 🙂
I have only read one of Kinsella's books. Clearly I need to fix that. Sometimes a light and fun book is absolutely the best kind!

I was disappointed with the Shopaholic series, or at least the first two I read. I do love her other standalone books though so this one sounds like a winner. I am a sucker for a lighthearted chick lit when my other reading weighs me down. Thanks for recommending.
I loved this book even though Fliss does go to extremes. I really liked how it was about sister relationships. Sophie Kinsella is definitely one of my go-to authors when I want a book that will make me laugh. I'm looking forward to reading Shopaholic to the Stars this fall.
