The Sunday Post #27 (6.8.14)

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted @ Caffeinated Book Reviewer.
It’s a chance to share news. A post to recap the past week, showcase books and things we have received and share news about
what is coming up on our blog for the week ahead.

I’ve
decided to try a new weekly meme – a place where I can do both a weekly
wrap up and share what books I get all in one post, so I’m going to
give The Sunday Post a try, and also link up with Sheila’s It’s Monday Post over at Book Journey.

Whew…what a week! I had taken Monday off to catch up on things around the house after being gone most of the previous week at BEA. All was good until I took the puppy out in the late afternoon and she pulled me so hard, I ended up falling – landing on my tailbone. Needless to say, that derailed all plans for the rest of the day and week. No exercise as it hurt to walk and when I wasn’t at work, I was home icing it. It seems better, but I will probably still take it easy this week. I’m going to Mexico in two weeks and am hoping it will be fine by then!

Speaking of Mexico – I need to start thinking about what books I’m going to take with me. I’ll have my iPad, so I’ll have plenty of e-books, but usually end up taking a few print books. I hate when you have to turn off all electronics on the plane – it’s valuable reading time that you end up losing, so I like having a print book for the flights at least. What to bring, what to bring …

Have a great week everyone!!!

I've got The Glass Kitchen coming up too. I have tons of June books, but also want to pick up an older title I'm going to an author event for. We shall see. Take care of your tailbone…difficult injury!!

Ouch. Nothing worse than injuring a tail bone. Hmm I thought these days you can have an inflight mode on electronics. No? I like listening to audio books on a long flight so I always take my iPod along.

Last time I flew, you still had to turn off the devices during takeoff and landing. Not sure if that's still the case, but I want to be prepared!

So sorry you hurt yourself. A tail bone is awful because it hurts to do anything! So annoying. Looks like you've got some great reviews coming up! Have a great trip and a great week!

Yes – walking is difficult and sitting certain ways is painful, too. Definitely very annoying!

Oooh, the tailbone hurts ! I fell once seated on a stone, I still remember it even if it was decades ago ! I hope you'll be all right in time for your trip. I have author Jane Green in my sights, I heard she's very good. Take care and have a great week πŸ˜‰

Love Jane Green. I've read quite a few of her books – both in print and on audio. Can't go wrong with her!

So jealous that you are off to Mexico soon! I'd love to spend the summer there and practice my Spanish…that is…y practice mi espaΓ±ol.

    Here's my It's Monday.

We're going to Playa del Carmen, and I suspect a lot of English is spoken there. But, I do know un poco Spanish to get by!

Oh that's awful. I hurt my tailbone years ago, still makes me cringe thinking about it. Hope you heal quick!

I enjoyed Little Lies and I'm looking foward to Little Mercies this week. Lucky you having The House on Mermaid Point, I can't wait to read it. Happy reading πŸ™‚

The worst part is that there's really nothing to do for it – except ice and take ibuprofin. Taking it easy and hoping for a quick recovery!

I picked up a copy of Little Mercies at BEA – I haven't read her before but heard her books are really good!

Have a great time in Mexico! The airlines are letting you use small electronic devices the entire flight now, s long as they are in "airplane mode". Big improvement for me – I'm either listening to an audiobook on my iPhone or reading on the kindle the whole time πŸ™‚

Hope your tailbone is healed before the trip… so painful!

Thanks for the heads up about the electronic devices. I knew we could use them during the flight, but thought we still had to turn them off during takeoff and landing.
