The Sunday Post #11 (2.16.14)

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted @ Caffeinated Book Reviewer.
It’s a chance to share news. A post to recap the past week, showcase books and things we have received and share news about
what is coming up on our blog for the week ahead.

I’ve
decided to try a new weekly meme – a place where I can do both a weekly
wrap up and share what books I get all in one post, so I’m going to
give The Sunday Post a try, and also link up with Sheila’s It’s Monday Post over at Book Journey.

Between the Olympics and being back at work, I haven’t had as much time to read as I normally do. I’m hoping to find a better balance once the Olympics are over next week. But, I am enjoying the figure skating, so I don’t really mind for now!!!

Winter seems to be making it’s mark this year…we got quite the Nor’Easter on Thursday – over a foot of snow dumped on the already 8 inches we already had! Then we got a few more inches yesterday…I don’t think I’ll be seeing my grass for quite a while!!! Dogs are getting used to it – grudgingly and I’m making do by now resorting to doing my distance training walks for the 1/2 marathon at the mall. Only have 4 more weeks until the big day and I need to get some big walks in!

Looks like you have a lot of cool things going on. That's cool you are doing a half marathon. I wish I was more motivated to do those things.

Thanks! I've always wanted to do the 1/2 – my ultimate goal is to walk a full marathon – maybe after a get a few 1/2s under my belt, though!!!

I like the idea of a weekly wrap up and look at the week ahead. Sometimes I want to tell everyone why I did or didn't read much during a particular week or drop a quick line about this or that without making a whole post. I hear ya about the snow. You had the nor'easter and I've been in the whole Atlanta SnowJam debacleS! I'm hoping this week will run a little smoother.

I've been doing one format or another of a weekly wrap up since I started blogging – I like it as it helps keep me organized in a way! Yes – I have a brother near Atlanta and heard all about what you've been dealing with. I'm so done with this winter and I usually don't mind it!

We got more snow too. The Olympics are slowing down my reading too, but it fun to watch. I just got The Invention of Wings. Have a great week.

Love the Love Undercover series…it was my first time reading anything by Lori Foster. Am definitely going to have to try some of her other books.

Wow that's a lot of snow. I'll be looking forward to updates on your 1/2 marathon, very inspirational! The Invention of Wings is one I'm interested in.
Have a great week and happy reading 🙂

Yes – the marathon is coming up…I'll be focusing on distance walks, so my step count will be high for the next few weeks on fitbit!

The Invention of Wings is really good so far – I'm about halfway through it.

I'm looking forward to reading the new Jojo Moyes book. I'm preparing myself, though; second books rarely living up to the first, in my experience.

    Here's my It's Monday!

I've now read 2 full-length books by Jojo Moyes, plus one short story by her and loved them all. The 2 books are completely different and I think that helps.

Dash of Peril is on my stack too. The Olympics are cutting into my reading time too. Like you, ice skating is my favorite. Come see my Monday report if you get a chance. Happy reading!

I think that seems to be a common refrain – good thing the Olympics only last 2 weeks so that we can all get back to our reading next week!!!

I also love figure skating. Did you see the US guy (sorry forgot his name) who crashed badly into the barriers and after 30 secs or so just got up and continued with his triple jumps! Just for that they should give him gold me thinks! I like the sound of Must love dogs. Enjoy your book haul and have a great week.
