The Sunday Post #5 (12.29.13)

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted @ Caffeinated Book Reviewer.
It’s a chance to share news. A post to recap the past week, showcase books and things we have received and share news about
what is coming up on our blog for the week ahead.

I’ve
decided to try a new weekly meme – a place where I can do both a weekly
wrap up and share what books I get all in one post, so I’m going to
give The Sunday Post a try, and also link up with Sheila’s It’s Monday Post over at Book Journey

Another crazy week that resulted in little to no reading time. Between getting last minute holiday stuff done before heading to my in-laws for Christmas Eve and Christmas Day and then getting my house ready for my family’s Christmas celebration today – I’ve been a bit frazzled!!! Today we’re hosting 23 people – 14 adults and 9 kids – and hubby, my rockstar, is doing all the cooking! While I’m excited to see my siblings and their kids, I have to say I will also be glad when tomorrow comes and I can finally sit with my feet up and just read all day!

I’m also quite excited that hubby and I have decided to have a quiet night in for New Years. He has to work that day and I plan on just reading and catching up on the blog. I still need to put together my end of year post and my goals post for 2014 as well as finalize what reading challenges I will be participating in for the upcoming year. I’m super excited that the next Bout of Books will be the first full week in January – I’m hoping that will kick-start my reading for the new year. Will you be participating?

Hope everyone has a happy, healthy and safe New Year!!!

Sounds like you had a busy past week like I did. I hope your celebration today goes well and you all have fun! I don't typically do many read-a-thons. 🙁 I just read when I can. But I hope Bout of Books kick starts your 2014 reading!

OMGosh! good luck today! You and especially your hubs deserve a nice quiet night in on New Years – those are the best! I hate going out anymore – I've gotten too old for that 😀

Awesome haul!!! You read all the classic books that I take care of at my library (keep in order on the shelves – it's such a tough job, ha!). So I'm totally familiar with them! Someday, I'll get my head out of NA and UF and head over to adult contemp 🙂

btw… I love how you spell your name 😉 Have a wonderful night on New Years!!! My Sunday Post

Sounds like a sensible New Year's Eve….and I hope to do the same. And will probably take down my Christmas stuff on New Year's Day.

I loved both of those Joshilyn Jackson books…and I'm looking forward to Touch and Go and Whiskey Beach.

Enjoy! Here's MY WEEKLY SUNDAY/MONDAY UPDATES

Ha! I will be having a quiet New Year's Eve too. Like you I am working on Review 2013 post and goals for 2014. Just reading goals though.
I will be interested to see what you think of audio of Whiskey Beach. I think it is a male narrator, and I tend to prefer females narrating, so chose to read it instead.

I think that is the best New Years plan – I like to stay in too… its a great night to read 🙂

I love to make resolutions. I wonder if I'm the only one who loves to do this. I love to make ones that I can actually keep!
