Sunday Post #2 (12.8.13)

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted @ Caffeinated Book Reviewer.
It’s a chance to share news. A post to recap the past week, showcase books and things we have received and share news about
what is coming up on our blog for the week ahead.

I’ve
decided to try a new weekly meme – a place where I can do both a weekly
wrap up and share what books I get all in one post, so I’m going to
give The Sunday Post a try, and also link up with Sheila’s It’s Monday Post over at Book Journey.

I started decorating for the holidays and made the cutest candle-things to put in the windows on my porch – I found them on Pinterest – such an addicting place!!! I’m hoping to get our tree today and then we’ll decorate it later this week. Not sure how the little pup will do with it, so I think we’ll put it in the dining room, since when the pup is out of the crate, so plays in the living room and I can keep her out of the dining room. It will be interesting to see what happens, that’s for sure!

I’m definitely in the mood for some Christmas reads, so despite the fact that I haven’t finished quite a few of my reading challenges for this year, I might just focus on books with a holiday theme for the next week or so and then I need to start looking at what I’ve committed to for January reviews…hard to believe that’s already just around the corner!

And speaking of reading challenges, I started a new feature called Let’s Discuss and the first topic is Reading Challenges. I do hope you’ll check it out and join in on the discussion whether you participate in challenges or not. I’m not sure how often I’ll do this feature just yet, but for now, when I come up with a topic I think will warrant a good discussion, I’ll post it.

You got a lot of books that I hadn't heard of before. I like to see the covers because then I know what the book looks like. Great haul though.

I need to figure out how to do side-by-side covers on blogger – then I will add covers to my posts. That's next on my to-do list!

I haven't done any christmas books yet. I have seen a lot of other bloggers reading them just trying to get through some of my Edelweiss and Netgalley reads.

When we got our puppy the one thing I was so scared of was him peeing on it, since its fake it has no smell so I avoided anything that smelled like tree until he got older but he was a very good boy. I hope you puppy enjoys the tree πŸ™‚

    Have a great week

Luckily I have a few Christmas reads from Netgalley, so I will be killing 2 birds with 1 stone – that's why I'm okay with reading them now – I really need to up my feedback ratio!

I'll be happy if the puppy doesn't try to knock the tree down!

I've found myself wanting to read some cozies and Christmas-y stuff lately, that time of year! Seeing lots of cheery holiday books in the bookstore doesn't hurt either. Looks like you have some good Christmas stuff coming up.

Yes – this time of year does lend to fun, holiday reads – gives us downtime during all the hustle and bustle and stress of the season!

I have a few Christmas decorations out but nothing big. I did put together a book tree at work but haven't gotten my tree put together at home yet.

I like reading holiday books but I don't think I have any on my TBR pile at the moment. It is hard to think about 2014 being right around the corner! Definitely not ready for that yet πŸ™‚

I know, I really should have included a picture. I'll try to take one later today and include it – if not, I'll try to remember to include it in next week's post.

Kristin, you are incredibly organized! I hope you enjoy your new books, and look forward to your new feature. Have a terrific reading week. I'm struggling with finding (or making) enough time to read during this very busy season.
