It’s Monday…What Are You Reading? (10.21.13)

It’s Monday What Are you Reading , hosted by Sheila, is the perfect way
for me to
begin my week and allows me to
focus on what
needs to be read and to see what I
have or have not
accomplished the previous week.
I also enjoy
discovering new books by
visiting other participants
blogs.

Another week of little to no reading…again due to the puppy, but also because my 8-year-old niece came to stay with us for a few days. It was a fun visit with a trip to the Bronx Zoo – a place I haven’t been to in years – and the highlight of the day was the camel ride! My sister and her 6 month old met us and the weather was perfect for walking around – and great for getting in those steps!!! (Grand total of 16,424 steps that day.)

I’m hoping that this week will be much more quiet so that not only can I get some reading time in, but also I can get some much needed blogging time in.

Books Completed last week:

  • Silencing Eve by Iris Johansen (library book/audio book)

Reading Now:

  • Before I Met You by Lisa Jewell (review book)
  • The Life List by Lori Nelson Spielman (mine, book lovers unite book club book)
  • The Engagements by J. Courtney Sullivan (library audio book) – car
  • Light of the Moon by Luanne Rice (library audio book) – iPod

Next:

  • The Perfect Match by Kristan Higgins (review e-book)

I love this meme because I learn new news as I go along. It was good to hear there is another of Wendy Wax coming out in the beach series. Hope you enjoy The Perfect Match. Will be interested to see what you think of Honor.

Yes, I like this meme for that reason, too! I enjoy the Beach series and the short story was a good set up for it.

Did I miss puppy photos? I remember vividly how much work they are (but so worth it lol) like having another baby but the good thing being my son was old enough to help take care of our Bella. The zoo trip with your niece sounds like a lot of fun.

Like you, I didn't get much reading or blogging done so I'm hoping to play catch up this week, good luck with it.

PS what step counter do you use, I've recently got a fitbit and was surprised what hard work it is to reach 10,000 steps/day

I posted the puppy photos in last week's post. It's a lot of work, but a lot of fun, too!

I have a fitbit, too! It can be challenging to get those 10K steps in each day. Let me know if you want to be friends on fitbit – it's a great motivator to try to be at the top of the leader board!

We have a puppy in our house as well! I hope you will have more quality reading time soon. Ideally, the puppy will be near you or in your lap, asleep, while you enjoy a few chapters in a book or two.

Yes – yesterday she actually climbed up onto the couch next to me, curled up and fell asleep. It was really cute!

Yay on getting those steps in! My step count has been way down due to the bad back. I just got Hunting Eve and look forward to reading it. Have a great week.

I love that pic with the camel! You niece must love you. The last time I went to the zoo was this summer in Switzerland and we rode on an elephant. Cool!
