The Sassy Belles are back…and this time, wedding bells are ringing!

Seven
months pregnant and head over heels in love, Vivi Ann McFadden is busy
pulling together the final details for her wedding to Lewis Heart,
famous play-by-play announcer for the Crimson Tide. But with two
wedding-planners-gone-wild, a psychic giving her advice, and the
ceremony happening on the same day as the wildly popular Crimson Tide
kickoff game, chaos reigns supreme. Luckily, maid of honor Blake O’Hara
Heart is on the job. She’ll tackle this wedding if it’s the last thing
she does!

But not everyone is cheering for the happy couple. News
of the upcoming nuptials has brought Lewis’s old flame back to
Tuscaloosa and she’s got a secret that could mean the end of Lewis’s
marriage before it even begins.

Sexy Southern fun…with a hint of magnolia!

My thoughts: This is the second book in Beth Albright’s Sassy Belles series and it’s such a fun series. I love the southern charm that just oozes off the pages.

In this installment, Vivi is getting ready to have all her dreams come true. She’s getting married to Lewis, the love of her life, and having a baby. At seven months pregnant, she’s hoping to walk down the aisle before the baby comes. But, she soon finds out that Lewis is actually already married – thanks to a college prank! Now it’s up to her and Blake to find the girl and get the marriage annulled so things can go according to plan.

In true southern style, Vivi wants everything to be perfect and so has hired the catering business, A Fru Fru Affair to help plan the joint baby shower/wedding shower. I just loved these guys – they are completely over the top and crazy – perfect additions to the cast of characters. Not that the book needed any more comedy, but Coco and Jean-Pierre definitely provide some good laughs!

Picking up with where the first book left off, Blake and Sonny are trying to work out their new relationship. While she’s still technically married to Harry and will stay so until after the election in November, she’s moved out of their house and is living with Vivi. It’s fun watching Blake and Sonny sneak around to catch stolen moments together. Of course, though, they need to be extra vigilant with nosy Dallas hanging out…she’s been told her job as reporter is on the line and needs to find the next big story.

I’m definitely hooked on this series and am looking forward to reading the next installment, Sleigh Belles, due out in September. I can’t wait to see who’s the focus of that book – though I’m secretly hoping we get to see more of that sneaky Dallas!

As I mentioned above, this book is set in the deep South and I just love all that southern charm that comes across in the story. While I’ve never been, I end up feeling as if I just has a nice visit after reading this series. Do you have a favorite setting for books, one that pulls you right in?

I didn't realize this was a series. I almost nabbed this from NetGalley. Might have to grab it anyways as it sounds like a great read from your review. 🙂

I have put this into my Goodreads shelf, but when I realised I needed to read the first one I added that as well.
