Stacking the Shelves (30) 1.20.13

Tynga of Tynga’s Reviews is starting a new meme to spotlight the books we receive each week.  Here’s what I got:

For Review:

The Wanderer (e-book)
by Robyn Carr

This is the first in Robyn Carr’s new series, Thunder Point and I am looking forward to reading it. It appears she will be taking a break from the Virgin River series…hopefully not permanently! In the meantime, this series sounds like it will be pretty good.

The Truth About Love and Lightning

by Susan McBride

I haven’t read anything by Susan McBride before, but do have one of her other books on my tbr list – Little Black Dress.

From the Library:

Mrs. Lincoln’s Dressmaker

by Jennifer Chiaverini

I am so excited this came in…can’t wait to start reading it! This is Jennifer Chiaverini’s first stand-alone historical fiction novel and it sounds so good!

Purchased:

One Perfect Night (e-book)

by Bella Andre

After reading a few of the Sullivan books by Bella Andre, I am curious to see how her stand-alones are.

Candy Store (free e-book)

by Bella Andre

Who can turn down a free book – especially by Bella Andre. I’ve seem to have found a new favorite author!

Love Me (free e-book)

by Bella Andre

Another free e-book by Bella…hope these are all as good as her Sullivan series!

What did you get this week?

I started reading The Wanderer today when I was waiting for my flight. I haven't read much but so far it seems good!

I'm looking forward to starting The Wanderer. I know it's hard to think she might not write any more VR books but after so many maybe she felt she'd done all she could and needs a new location. I hope The Wanderer is the first of many Thunder Point books 🙂

I know there will be at least three in the Thunder Point series. Hopefully they are just as good as the Virgin River books!

Thanks for letting me know about those free and cheap Bella Andre books. I just bought them for my Kindle too. I loved the Sullivan series.

You can check out my new books posts at Ms. Martin Teaches Media and Inside of a Dog. Happy reading!

I am waiting for a digital copy of Mrs. Lincoln's Dressmaker from our library. I can't wait to read that one either.

As soon as I finish 2 review books, I will be starting that Mrs. Lincoln's Dressmaker…hopefully by the end of the week!

I liked Little Black Dress and didn't know she had a new one. Mrs. Lincoln's Dressmaker sounds fantastic. I haven't read anything by Chiaverini but I might try that one.

I've only read one book by Chiaverini – The Quiltmaker's Apprentice, which is the first of her Elm Creek Quilts series. It was really good and when I saw this one, I just had to get it. I love a good historical read!

Yes, it really does. Have you read her Virgin River series? The main character in The Wanderer actually makes an appearance in one of the later Virgin River books.

This is my dream lineup. I am reading my first Robin Carr book and am thoroughly enjoying it. I am dying to read Mrs. Lincoln's Dressmaker and have just recently added a Bella Andre book to my wishlist. Enjoy!
