It’s Monday…What Are You Reading? (12.10.12)

It’s Monday What Are you Reading , hosted by Sheila, isthe perfect way
for me to
begin my week and allows me to
focus on what
needs to be read and to see what I
have or have not
accomplished the previous week.
I also enjoy
discovering new books by
visiting other participants
blogs.

I can’t believe there are only 21 days left in 2012…I have quite a bit of reading to get done if I am complete all the reading challenges I signed up for. I think I might be able to do it – I have 12 books to get to. Luckily some will count for more than one challenge! If you don’t see a lot of activity on the blog between now and then, it’s because I’m reading!

Today is the first day of the 1st Annual Historical Holiday Blog Hop. It’s the first time I am participating in a blog hop, so I do hope you’ll stop by and see what I’m giving away. Also be sure to check out the other participating blogs – there are some great giveaways, plus a few grand prize giveaways as well!

I still haven't read Shanghai Girls but I've heard really good things about that series. I did read Snow Flower and the Secret Fan which I really liked. A Grown Up Kind of Pretty looks interesting to me too. I will have to check out the blog hop. I love historical fiction.

Good luck with your reading challenges! I still have some reading to do too. I'm so glad I have a break this month from book discussion books so I can try to get caught up on review books. Have a great week!

I loved Snow Flower and the Secret Fan – that's what first got me hooked on Lisa See. Shanghai Girls was really good and I'm looking forward to starting Dreams of Joy this week.

I wish I had a big break right now where I could just focus on reading – but that won't happen until the week between Christmas and New Years.

I have no idea – it feels as if it was just summer! I'm probably being overly optimistic that I can finish all my challenges, but I will give it my best shot!

Summer House is really good so far and I'm hoping A Grown Up Kind of Pretty comes in this week so I can start that one, too!

I love several of the authors you mentioned…like Joshilyn Jackson, Nancy Thayer, and Janet Evanovich. This New Year will show me more books from authors I enjoy! Yes, it's great to meet new authors (in the review books), but I need a break!

Thanks for sharing…and enjoy. Here's MY MONDAY MEMES POST

I have not read Dreams of Joy but I have had Peony in Love on my bookshelf for a long time. I had a difficult time getting into it. Perhaps I need to give See another chance. December is passing too quickly. Too many books and not enough time. I hope you have a great week!

I read Peony in Love and it wasn't my favorite of hers. I would highly recommend Snow Flower and the Secret Fan – it was really good. Shanghai Girls was also good.

I think that thought all the time – way too many books and definitely not enough time!

Good luck with the challenges, I realised it just isn't going to happen and I am alright with that now.

I think I can easily get 3 of the 4 done. It's that 4th one that I might not get finished…but I'm going to give it my all!

Any Janet Evonovich will be hilarious, though I'm particularly fond of Grandma. Good luck on your challenges–you'll do it!
