Book Beginnings Friday: Wallflower in Bloom

Please join Rose City Reader
every Friday to share the first sentence (or so) of the book you are
reading, along with your initial thoughts about the sentence,
impressions of the book, or anything else the opener inspires.  Please
remember to include the title of the book and the author.

I’m reading Wallflower in Bloom by Claire Cook:

My brother
was dazzling, as usual. “Do. You. Have. Passion?” he roared. His white
teeth gleamed. His elegant hands beckoned. His bedroom eyes twinkled.
The sold-out mostly female audience drooled.

I love that each summer brings a new book from
Claire Cook. I’ve read all but one of her books and have really enjoyed
them all. She tends to have strong leading female characters and has
explored some really interesting jobs.

Wallflower in Bloom one is pretty good so far, especially since one of my favorite shows on TV these days is Dancing With the Stars!  How does this tie in? You’ll have to read the book (or my review once it’s up) to find out.

Not an author I am familiar with, but definitely an interesting beginning. Each book stands alone, not part of a series?

Yes, all of Claire Cook's books are stand alones. Did you ever see the movie Must Love Dogs? She wrote that.

She's a great author if you're looking for someone new to read.

New author and title for me. I'll definitely have to check it out. I'm a big Dancing with the Stars fan too.

That sounds like a very interesting beginning!

    Thanks for stopping by.
