Booking Through Thursday: Disappointment (7.1.10)

Today’s Booking Through Thursday question asks:

Name a book or author that you truly wanted to love but left you disappointed. (And, of course, explain why.)

One book that I recently read left me quite disappointed, One Amazing Thing by Chitra Banerjee Divakaruni. Maybe it was the title that left me wanting more from this book, but I felt that something was missing.  To see more of my thoughts, see my review.

What about you?

Great answer! I loved your review as well, it was great. Disappointing this one wasn't so good as it seemed to have a lot of potential.x

Have not heard of this author and will now not even think to read any of the books.

I just read your review. I totally understand. I hate when that happens in a book. I talk about a book that I read recently that takes me out of the story instead of sucking me in.

Here is my Booking Through Thursday.

I have never heard of One Amazing Thing. So will not be reading it anytime soon.

I had never heard of this book so I read your review and read the excerpts from it, this is not the kind of book that would attract me in the first place unless it got rave reviews and I it has not. Thanks for your thoughts on this.

Everyone tells me that I would love Patricia Cornwell — but i find her writing style to be absolutely bland. There are way better authors out there in the genre.

Who knows, maybe she's gotten better, but i have no urge to purchase her books.
