Musing Mondays 5-10-10

Musing Mondays2Today’s MUSING MONDAYS post is about reading time.

Do you have to carve out time in your day for reading (due to work and other obligations), or does your reading just happen naturally? (Question courtesy of MizB)

PLEASE LEAVE A COMMENT with either the link to your own Musing Mondays post, or share your opinion in a comment here (if you don’t have a blog). Thanks.

**MUSING MONDAYS is hosted by Rebecca at Just One More Page…I wouldn’t say that I set aside time for reading, although I have times when I know I will get to read. I watch two girls after school four days a week and while they are doing their homework, I usually read. I also try to read before going to bed each night as it tends to clear my mind. Other than those two “set” times, I try to read whenever I am not doing anything else. I love to read outside, and am happy that the warmer weather is here. On Sundays from May to October, my husband sails and I go with him to the boat club, just to sit on the deck of the club and read. There are rocking chairs overlooking the water and I usually can get in a good chunk of reading time.

What about you?

Your post sounds so peaceful and relaxing 🙂 I rarely read outside… the street I live on is pretty noisy. Sometimes I'll read on my backyard deck but I get so easily distracted by the outside stuff.

I'm a soccer mom and not really very social so I tend to read during soccer practices. It's really perfect for me. Then I read for an hour or so to relax before bed.

Sitting on the dock, reading, sounds lovely…
But I can't read before bed…I tend to just fall asleep, book in hand.

I find, the better the book I am reading, the more time to read I find in my day. Ok, a few things don't get done but still…

I find I can't read before bed, because I tend to become too absorbed in what I am reading and forget to go to sleep.

I used to love to read at the beach! Sitting on the dock would be so peaceful. Now we live in the city in the desert. You can find quiet places though!

I agree, reading outside is wonderful. Looking forward to it.
